[Welcome] New faculty member
2019.02.22Prof. Jooyong Yi has joined the School of ECE (CSE Track) as of Feb.13, 2019.
Greeting from professor
I am truly delighted to join UNIST as a faculty member, after working abroad for the last decade or so. After receiving a PhD degree from Aarhus University in Denmark, I worked in various places such as Kansas State University, National University of Singapore, and Innopolis University located in Russia.
My research area is software engineering. In particular, my recent research focuses on automated bug fixing whereby software bugs are automatically fixed. Given the prevalence of bugs in software, companies such as Facebook have started to adopt automated bug fixing in their development pipeline. More broadly speaking, my work is in line with a recent technical trend of “software writing software” — about which I am going to give a talk as an invited speaker at the upcoming Korean-American Kavli Frontiers of Science Symposium. (Kavli FoS is considered an “the National Academy of Science’s premiere activity for distinguished young scientists.”) I am thrilled to have an opportunity at UNIST to advance the new promising field on the frontier.
