Greetings from professor
I am interested in advancing the understanding of how we can explore, make sense of, and interact with visual data. I contribute to this endeavor by exploiting and developing new techniques in machine learning, computer vision, computer graphics, and human-computer interaction.
My current research interests focus on mining, processing, and displaying image and video data. I am also working on modeling and enhancement of images and video, especially in the context of denoising, artifact removal, super-resolution, and deblurring and on algorithmic aspects of machine learning including semi-supervised learning, sparse Bayesian inference, and link-prediction in graphs.
I was awarded a PhD from Kyungpook National University, Korea. Before I join UNIST, I was a postdoctoral researcher at KAIST, Korea, and at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics (currently, Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems), Saarland University, and the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, all in Germany. More recently, I was a lecturer at Lancaster University and a senior lecturer at the University of Bath, UK.
